Under the contemporary society that is quickly changing today, everyone wants to take a moment off by escaping the city to nature by finding leisure from busy life at least once. With that in mind, it is a pleasure to hold this exhibition with the work products that studied the existence of human, environment motive with sense of sympathy through contact with nature and fully enjoying the splendor of nature of suburban away from city life.
In particular, artists used only the traditional Korean paper with the splendor and wisdom of Korea to re-interpret in unique formative language only for artist that the method to make the sculpture work for wooden plate, gypsum, bronze plate and others with ordinary Korean paper with multiple layers as one of the expression method attempted by Artist Hyun-tae Kim.
By succeeding and conserving the traditional heritage and culture of Korean paper where the millennium of time is contained just the way it is and shed the light on excellence of Korean paper with the proof of theory in thousand years in paper, it maximizes the excellence on Korean paper and it is the work product that generated the unique formative language of artist’s unique feature that it has the implication to heighten the competitiveness of art works.

한지 / 초대의 글
오늘날 빠르게 변모하는 현대사회에서 잠시나마 일상으로부터 벗어나 자연으로 도피하고 싶은 마음은 누구나가 한번쯤은 가졌을 것이라 생각합니다. 그러기에 사람들은 몸과 마음의 여유를 찾아 언제나 평화로움과 안식을 안겨 주는 자연과 접하면서 인간에게 주는 자연의 교감을 작품의 모티브로 한 환경과 인간에 의한 존재를 전통과 현대의 창조적인 매체표현을 통해서 섬유작가가 펼치는 또 다른 다양한 세계를 확인할 수 있는 자리가 될 것으로 봅니다.
이번에 초대된 작가는 우리의 멋과 지혜가 담긴 전통한지를 차용하여 작가만의 독특한 조형언어로 재해석한 작업으로 목판과 석고, 동판 등에 조각을 한 후 우리 한지 등을 겹겹이 붙여 두드려 떠내는 방식을 시도한 김현태 작가를 초대하게 됨을 기쁘게 생각합니다.
특히, 천년의 숨결이 살아 숨 쉬는 우리한지의 전통유산과 문화를 계승보존하고 지천년(紙千年)의 정설이 입증해 주는 한지의 우수성을 재조명함으로써, 표현의 폭을 극대화하였으며, 작가만의 독특한 조형언어를 창출한 작품으로 경쟁력을 높이는 데에도 그 의의(意義)가 크다고 볼 수 있습니다.
